Rattle Snake Roundups are a brutal, unnecessary event where animal cruelty is the main attraction. Snakes getting their mouths sewn shut, Children skinning snakes and leaving bloody hand prints on a wall, and a large pit of hundreds of wild caught snakes in horrible conditions being beheaded for pure entertainment (and to make the most disgusting hick souvenirs possible).
If people were doing this to kittens, it would have been all over the news. Animal abuse is STILL abuse even if the animal isn't fluffy.
Some of these events have switched from barbaric blood fests to educational fairs for the whole family (thus preserving whatever monetary value these events create while substituting abuse with admiration).
